Feedback to consultation: Energy security architecture – fitness check
On the 26 November 2024, the Coalition for Energy Savings provided a feedback to the Commission consultation on “Energy Security architecture – fitness check”.
In it, the Coalition argues that any energy security architecture must not only encompass preparedness for supply disruptions, risk avoidance or diversification of supply, but must also strongly be focused on the reduction of EU energy demand. Indeed, long-term demand-side solutions, with energy efficiency improvements and flexibility, create a smaller and more flexible energy system, greatly contributing to a more resilient, competitive and secured European Union by progressively phasing out the need for energy imports.
