Empowering the Energy Efficiency Industrial Ecosystem to Deliver on Net-Zero
The European Union (EU) is at the forefront of energy efficiency, leading the way in setting ambitious regulations such as the Energy Efficiency Directive and the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive. Similarly, the EU is a leader in innovation, pioneering product and patent development, and delivering quality services. As energy efficiency gains momentum globally, as exemplified by the Global Pledge to double efficiency at the last COP, it is imperative for EU industries to solidify their first-mover advantage. Ensuring that the energy efficiency ecosystem which provides the products, technologies, and services to deliver energy savings and efficiency continue to thrive and provide employment within Europe is therefore crucial.
Given the multifaceted benefits of energy efficiency, it is imperative for the European Commission to acknowledge and support the role of the energy efficiency industrial ecosystem as an essential player in achieving sustainable prosperity, particularly in its upcoming Clean Industrial Deal.
