In the year of the “Fit for 55 package,” Arianna Vitali Roscini is appointed as the new Secretary General of the Coalition for Energy Savings and Andrea Voigt as the new Chairwoman of its Steering Committee.
Brussels, 19 January 2021
With the release of the “Fit for 55 package” by the European Commission, 2021 will be a landmark for energy and climate policies in the EU.
This crucial year starts with change in leadership for the Coalition for Energy Savings. The Steering Committee has appointed Arianna Vitali Roscini as the new Secretary General of the Coalition.
With more than 10 years of experience in energy efficiency, Arianna has previously worked in this field both for BPIE and WWF. She takes over from Stefan Scheuer, who successfully held this position for the past decade.
“I am happy and honoured about my new role and eager to work with all members to ensure energy efficiency keeps playing a strong role in the revision of EU climate and energy legislation expected this year”, says Arianna Vitali Roscini. “Energy efficiency is central to a climate-friendly economic recovery that benefits all Europeans, that’s what the Coalition for Energy Savings stands for.”
In the next months, the Coalition’s key priority will be to engage in the upcoming revision of the Energy Efficiency Directive, expected in June 2021.
The Steering Committee has also appointed Andrea Voigt, Director General of the European Partnership for Energy and the Environment (EPEE), as its new Chairwoman. “I am looking forward to working together with Arianna and all members to make 2021 an energy efficiency success,” says Andrea Voigt.
Andrea replaces Adrian Joyce, Secretary General of EuroACE, who led the Coalition Steering Committee with competence and dedication for the past three years.
The new Coalition for Energy Savings' leadership will be supported by Business Solutions Europa (BSE), a Brussels-based public affairs consultancy specialised in energy efficiency. Antonin Chapelot and Milena Vergara Santiago will be responsible for policy and communication, respectively.
